The Saumur Blanc draws from clay and limestone parcels lower on the hill in Brz alongside younger vines from the Clos des Carmes and Clos Guichaux sites. Chalky tuffeau limestone bedrock underlies the entire hillside, and the combination of that porous, mineral rich substrate and the cooler conditions of
